Oura has just enhanced its smart rings with two new features: Cardio Effort and automatic VO2 Max. These tools aim to help users understand how their workouts impact their long-term cardiovascular health, both in terms of effort and aerobic capacity.
Cardio Effort measures the intensity and duration of workouts, presenting them in a simple scale from Light to Reaching. This feature provides a personalized comparison, suggesting when users might need to rest, rather than always pushing them to up their game.
In contrast, automatic VO2 Max, previously known as Cardio Capacity, now automatically estimates a user’s aerobic capacity after five GPS-enabled activities. This version eliminates the need for the six-minute walk test, making it more accessible and convenient for all users.
With these new features, Oura is offering a more intuitive way to track cardiovascular health, helping users make informed decisions about their fitness routines. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just starting out, these tools could be a game-changer in your health journey.
