Oura Ring 5: Smaller, Smarter and Scrubbier

Is AI really making us healthier, or just more paranoid about our health?

Finnish tech firm Oura has unveiled its latest iteration of the smart ring, the Oura Ring 5. The new model boasts a sleeker design that’s 40% smaller than its predecessor and comes with enhanced durability thanks to a scratch-resistant coating.

The ring’s AI Health Advisor takes centre stage, offering personalized wellness guidance through direct integration with healthcare professionals via Counsel Health. For the fitness enthusiasts among us, Oura has introduced live activity tracking modes, allowing users to monitor their workouts from the app lock screen without needing to unlock their phone mid-session.

Health Radar, a new feature, aims to predict potential health issues by analyzing biometric data in the background. This includes monitoring blood pressure and breathing disturbances during sleep, which could potentially catch problems early on. Metabolic health management tools have also been expanded, including GLP-1 medication tracking and lab result uploads.

Privacy is a key concern for Oura as they introduce time-based data deletion options, giving users more control over their personal information. With the Ring 5 available now, the battle for your wrist continues—but this time, it’s all about staying one step ahead of your health concerns.
