After nearly two decades at Microsoft and LinkedIn, Ryan Roslansky is stepping down, leaving behind a shake-up in leadership and a new focus on AI in the workplace.
His departure, coming hot on the heels of the launch of Copilot, may signal a shift in priorities, or just be a reshuffle. Roslansky’s critique of AI-generated documents adds a layer of complexity to the narrative.
“Over the past year, Ryan’s team has done critical work bringing together the product, engineering, and design foundations that have made this next phase possible,” said CEO Satya Nadella.
The move sees Charles Lamanna take charge of the Office and Teams teams, part of the Copilot, Agents, and Platform (CAP) organization. Jon Friedman, meanwhile, will report to Copilot chief Jacob Andreou.
Roslansky’s decision to leave was hard but necessary, citing family commitments to the Bay Area over a move to Redmond.
