At today’s Build conference, Microsoft showcased its latest advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), including an Autopilot agent called Microsoft Scout that can autonomously perform tasks within Microsoft 365. The company also highlighted a multi-model agentic scanning system designed to detect and fix software vulnerabilities.
Moving on from AI, the firm introduced the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, a compact developer PC powered by Nvidia’s new RTX Spark chip. With up to 128GB of built-in memory, this device is targeted at developers looking for a powerful yet portable solution. Its design includes an aluminum casing that doubles as a heatsink and comes preloaded with Windows 11 Pro and a suite of developer-centric tools.
This new offering builds on the Windows Dev Kit 2023, or ‘Project Volterra’, which featured a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip and Arm-native versions of Microsoft’s developer tools. These devices helped pave the way for future Surface devices that benefited from improved code translation technologies and more native Arm apps.
As Microsoft continues to expand its portfolio with these robust development tools, it remains to be seen how they will impact both professional developers and hobbyists alike.
