Indian tech firm MoEngage has snapped up San Francisco-based startup Aampe for tens of millions in cash. The acquisition sets its sights on the future of marketing by embedding dedicated AI agents to personalise customer interactions.
Raviteja Dodda, CEO of MoEngage, sees this as a strategic move to win over customers from rival platforms like Salesforce and Adobe. Aampe’s technology, already serving brands such as Swiggy and Grab, will bolster MoEngage’s global reach.
The deal comes at a time when software giants are increasingly integrating AI into their applications, moving beyond mere content generation towards autonomous decision-making. For Dodda, this acquisition is key to capturing a slice of the enterprise migration from traditional marketing platforms.
MoEngage now employs around 820 people and serves more than 1,350 consumer brands across 75 countries. With Aampe’s technology on board, it looks set to continue its growth trajectory, challenging established players in the AI-driven marketing space.
