Note-taking is the new battleground in productivity software. Calendly, known for its scheduling prowess, is now venturing into transcription and summary generation with Callie, an AI assistant.

Joining the likes of Granola, Otter and Read AI, Calendly's offering aims to automate the post-meeting drudgery. But as privacy concerns loom, transparency seems key: users will be informed when their meetings are being recorded.

The race is on in this crowded market. With Callie handling meeting setup, availability checks and context from previous discussions, Calendly hopes to streamline workflows for its outward-facing users. However, the competition is fierce—Notion, ClickUp and Wispr have already added note-taking features to their suites.

Despite the privacy scrutiny, automation after meetings appears ripe for exploitation. 'A lot of work happens after the meeting,' says Calendly CEO Tope Awotona, 'and that’s where our opportunity lies.'
