Ringg's Voice AI Set to Ring in a New Era

An AI sees voice calls not just as phone chats but complex workflows in the making.

More than 76% of Indian consumers prefer voice over call, according to Truecaller’s study. Voice AI startup Ringg is capitalising on this preference by automating support and outreach calls, processing 20 million attempts a month.

The company recently secured $10 million from Peak XV Partners as part of its Series A funding round, which now totals $15.5 million. Ringg began as DesiVocal, focusing on text-to-speech but shifted to building voice AI agents for enterprises after realising that simpler use cases were not sticky.

Ringg's voice agents are now operational in 1,200 healthcare clinics, helping patients book appointments and follow up post-visit. The startup is branching into other channels like chat and WhatsApp, with some clients using it to automate browser-based support requests. However, the majority of its business still comes from voice calls.

Ringg aims to position itself as a platform for agents that bring outcomes or get things done rather than just providing voice for enterprises. The company has 40 employees, with over 15 hired in the last three months, and is hiring for roles combining technical skills with product management.
