Ofcom has slapped a porn company with a hefty £600,000 fine for not properly verifying the age of its UK visitors. The firm, Youngtek Solutions Ltd, which runs four adult sites, failed to ensure UK users were over 18 before accessing content, leading to this hefty penalty.
The new rule under the UK’s Online Safety Act mandates highly effective age checks on all porn platforms in the UK. Between July and September 2025, Youngtek Solutions did not comply with these rules, despite eventually bringing in verification measures. The company was fined an additional £100,000 for failing to respond to Ofcom's initial information requests.
Since the introduction of the new law, Ofcom has handed out several significant fines, including a £1m penalty to AVS Group Ltd and an even steeper £1.35m fine to 8579 LLC. Both companies have since implemented age checks on their sites as required.
According to Ofcom, over three-quarters of the top 100 pornography services in the UK now use age verification measures. The regulator’s enforcement is clear: any company that fails to adhere will face severe penalties.
