Google is expanding the capabilities of its AI Mode to enhance your summer travel planning. The latest update allows you to query nearby stores for specific items and track hotel prices directly within Search.
You can now describe what you need, such as ‘I forgot my prescription sunglasses; where can I find a pair that fits over my current ones nearby?’ Google will make the calls and send you the details. This feature is rolling out in the United States, with plans to expand further.
On desktop, you can track hotel prices for specific hotels by tapping the new price-tracking toggle after searching. On mobile, this option appears under the ‘Prices’ tab. If the price changes during your chosen dates, you’ll receive an email alert.
The tech giant also shared that St. Maarten and Stockholm are among the top trending international destinations for summer 2026, alongside Kansas City and Sarasota. Search interest in AI travel assistants and concierges has surged by 350% over the past year, with queries on using AI to find flight deals becoming increasingly common.
As AI integrates more deeply into our daily lives, these updates highlight how technology can make planning smoother, but also raise questions about dependency. Will we still visit physical stores and book hotels in person?
