Google has unveiled its newest addition to the health-tech ecosystem, the screenless Fitbit Air. Priced at $100, this compact device aims to provide essential tracking features without the bulkiness often associated with wearables.
The Fitbit Air comes with a range of sensors for heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen levels, sleep stages and more, all wrapped in a sleek and comfortable design that can be worn 24/7. It’s 50% smaller than its predecessor, the Inspire 3, making it a more discreet companion.
With up to a week of battery life and fast charging capabilities, this wearable is designed for convenience. Users can sync their data with the rebranded Google Health app, allowing them to track health metrics seamlessly across devices, including the Pixel Watch when desired.
The launch comes as part of an ongoing effort by tech giants to simplify and personalise health-tech solutions for a wider audience. Whether this device will find its place among the masses or remain a niche gadget remains to be seen.
