Dyson's PencilVac Fluffycones: A Slim Hope for Tight Spaces

Is the future of cleaning truly more complicated than it needs to be?

Dyson’s latest innovation, the PencilVac Fluffycones, is a slim stick vacuum designed for the finer details of home maintenance. Its ultra-thin form and light weight make it exceptionally versatile for tackling corners, entryways, and stairs where robot vacuums might falter.

At $449.99 ($150 off), shoppers can pick one up during Amazon’s Big Spring Sale at various retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, and Target – marking a new low. Despite its diminutive size, the PencilVac is equipped with green LED lights for visibility and four ‘fluffy cone’ roller bars to avoid tangled hair.

However, it's not built for large-scale cleaning; its 55 air watts of suction are noticeably weaker than even Dyson’s V8. The battery life caps at around 20 to 30 minutes depending on the setting, making it better suited for quick touch-ups rather than deep cleans.

As a companion accessory to your robot vacuum, this quirky gadget might help maintain tidiness in tight spaces. As Jennifer Pattison Tuohy from our smart home review panel notes, it’s ‘wildly overengineered and delightfully delightful but entirely unnecessary.’
