Audi’s latest SUV models, the all-new Q7 and its North America-only performance sibling, the SQ7, are set to hit US roads this summer. The standard Q7 packs a powerful twin-turbo V6 under its bonnet, while the SQ7 borrows the might of the RS7's V8 engine for a real head-turner. Both models will feature Audi’s latest in-car tech, including digital matrix LED headlights that can communicate with other vehicles and dynamic turn signals to warn pedestrians.
The Q7 also offers an adaptive air suspension as an option, with a third mode lowering the car by over 30mm for a more aggressive look. Despite these upgrades, there’s no plug-in hybrid variant planned at this time. Audi claims both models will be quicker and more refined to drive than previous iterations.
While the Q7 is a global release, its US-only counterpart, the SQ7, brings an exclusive driving experience to American drivers. However, not all features will cross the Atlantic—such as the hazard icon-displaying OLED rear lights that are standard in Europe but limited to when parked in the US.
For those who might be concerned about the environmental impact of these powerful SUVs, Audi notes that electric options like the Q6 and Q9 are also part of their future plans. Until then, the Q7 and SQ7 promise a blend of performance and luxury for those willing to pay premium prices.
