Amazon’s latest upgrade to its AI assistant, Alexa+, now lets you order food from Uber Eats and Grubhub in a conversational manner, making the process as natural as chatting with a waiter or drive-thru staff.
The feature, aimed at creating a more interactive ordering experience, allows users to request cuisine, explore menu options, ask questions, and customize their meal all within one conversation. If you change your mind, want to add a dessert, or adjust quantities mid-order, it’s as simple as saying, “Let's do that.”
To activate this feature, link your Grubhub or Uber Eats account through the Alexa app. Previous orders sync automatically, making it easy to reorder favorite meals or discover new restaurants.
Users can simply say, 'I want to order Italian for delivery,' and Alexa+ will guide them to various restaurant options. Once set, users get a comprehensive summary of their cart contents, including quantities and prices.
This upgrade is rolling out on Echo Show 8 devices and larger, with Amazon promising it’s laying the groundwork for similar features in other areas like grocery shopping and travel arrangements.
