Juggling schedules for a family of five used to be a constant source of stress, but now one parent can breathe easier thanks to Skylight’s touchscreen calendar. The device connects seamlessly with existing calendars and offers an easy way for kids to take responsibility for their own schedules.
As soon as the 15-inch screen was unboxed, the 12-year-old son took charge, setting up a color-coded calendar for each family member and even adding household chores. He loved seeing everyone's schedule, reducing the need for constant questioning about plans and activities.
The calendar’s ability to sync with smartphones means that everyone in the house can add items to the grocery list from anywhere. It also has an AI-powered assistant named Sidekick that helps with meal planning and task management, though some features are behind a paywall. Sidekick even suggests adding ingredients to the weekly grocery list when a recipe is assigned.
However, the device’s reliance on power outlets can be frustrating for parents who want to work on it while relaxing on the couch. Despite this limitation, the parent was glad to offload some of their responsibility and see their children take an active interest in managing family activities.
