Dyson’s latest lineup brings a whirlwind of choices, leaving potential buyers questioning which model truly stands out. In my tests, the Gen5Detect proved the champion, closely followed by the V10 Konical. However, for those looking to save some cash, the V10 Konical offers a strong performance at half the price.
The sand test revealed that while both the V16 Piston Animal and Gen5Detect excelled, the V8 Cyclone struggled with thin rugs. Meanwhile, in the cereal test, every model performed relatively well, with the Gen5Detect showing exceptional control.
The litter test was a clear demonstration of the Gen5Detect’s superiority, leaving no trace behind on vinyl plank floors. Despite its strong performance, even the V16 pushed some litter in front of itself. This suggests that while the newer models are indeed more powerful and offer advanced features, the older ones still hold their own in certain situations.
The naming convention can be confusing; Dyson doesn't always follow a strict order for power levels or accessory compatibility. Each model comes with different heads and options, making it important to consider your specific cleaning needs before committing.
