Meta’s AI Soars: Muse Spark Takes Flight

Is Meta’s latest AI model the key to outflanking its rivals, or just a brief blip in the radar?

Following Wednesday's launch of the company's newest AI model, Muse Spark, consumer demand for Meta's AI app has surged dramatically. According to market intelligence provider Appfigures, the app has jumped from No. 57 on the U.S. App Store to No. 5 in just one day, marking a significant increase in installs by around 87%.

Meta claims that Muse Spark is an upgrade over its earlier Llama 4 models and aims to compete with rivals like OpenAI and Anthropic. It can handle multiple forms of input, including voice, text, and images, and has been designed for tasks ranging from health learning to complex reasoning in science and math.

Despite the recent growth, Meta AI’s app still trails behind top model makers such as ChatGPT (No. 1) and Anthropic's Claude (No. 2). However, the app is now installed a total of 60.5 million times worldwide, with 25 million downloads occurring just this year. India has become Meta AI’s top market by downloads.

According to Sensor Tower, daily web visitors for Meta AI in the U.S. increased more than 450% on April 8, 2026, reaching an all-time high. This was a significant increase of over 570% compared to the average registered in the previous 30 days.
