How clean is the air in your workplace? Engineering students Tanvi Thombre and Lakshya Saraf started asking this question when they were unknowingly exposed to toxic fumes from their university makerspace. Their research revealed that indoor air pollution, especially in offices, poses a serious health risk, leading them to found Greenairy, a startup that aims to tackle this issue with plant towers.
Unlike traditional air purifiers, Greenairy's towers break down toxic gases and release purified air, making the environment healthier and more productive. Their tests showed a 50% reduction in VOC levels within regular office hours, and the results were validated by TÜV SÜD.
The founders, who are based in California and Singapore, are preparing for large-scale manufacturing after their TechCrunch Disrupt pitch. They are excited about the potential to combat sick building syndrome with a natural solution, one tower at a time.
Join them at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco to see how plants can clean the air faster and better than conventional methods.
