Neurotech’s Next Big Step

Max Hodak’s new firm aims to bridge brain and machine in a more organic, less invasive way.

Science Corporation, co-founded by former Neuralink president Max Hodak, has enlisted top neurobiologist Dr. Murat Günel for their groundbreaking human trials. Hodak envisions not just treating diseases but enhancing the human experience through biohybrid brain-computer interfaces.

Their latest device, PRIMA, is already restoring vision to those with macular degeneration. Now, Science aims to integrate living neurons with electronics, a step believed to reduce long-term damage caused by conventional methods.

In discussions with medical ethics boards, they plan to implant their sensor during routine brain surgeries, ensuring minimal risk to patients while testing its safety and efficacy in measuring brain activity.

Günel foresees applications far beyond vision restoration, including monitoring neurological conditions like Parkinson’s. Hodak aims for a future where electronics and biology work seamlessly together, opening new possibilities for human enhancement.
