Blue Origin Blows Smoke, Canada Launches Plans

The future of rockets is uncertain, but spaceports are definitely coming to Nova Scotia.

Welcome to Edition 8.44 of the Rocket Report! This week, the spotlight is on Blue Origin's explosive setback and the growing ambitions of Canada.

The recent explosion at Blue Origin’s launchpad in Florida has left the company reeling. CEO Jeff Bezos now faces the challenge of rebuilding New Glenn or seeking alternative launches for his Blue Moon lander.

Meanwhile, Canadian space plans are heating up. The government has pledged significant funds to establish a sovereign launch capability, with Maritime Launch Services set to benefit from these investments at their Spaceport Nova Scotia in Nova Scotia, Canada.

The next steps involve civil works such as road construction and utility connections at the spaceport. A central hub connecting key commodities to the launch pads is also on the cards, signalling a major push for infrastructure development that could revolutionise regional space activity.
