It seems the week for affordable electric vehicles isn't over yet. Following the unveiling of the Slate electric truck with an extended range, Amble has entered the fray with its own stylish and affordable ride – the $25,000 Amble One.
The company, led by veterans from Audi, Ford, and Apple, is positioning this stripped-down buggy as a unique form of short-range mobility for idyllic settings like coastal paths or private estates. Its compact design and lightweight build of under 450 kilograms are key to its classification as an L7e vehicle in Europe.
Amble's founders bring a mix of automotive, tech, and creative expertise, with the design lead responsible for the infamously cancelled Apple car project lending a familiar touch. Despite this, the Amble One aims to break new ground by blending style with functionality on less conventional roads.
The vehicle offers a range exceeding 60 miles, a top speed of 40 mph, and can be charged in as little as five hours from any standard socket. This blend of futuristic tech and retro design hints at what could be the next big thing in personal mobility or just another quirky addition to the growing electric vehicle market.
