Midjourney's behind-the-scenes peek at its futuristic dunk-tank ultrasound scanner has left many scratching their heads. While the tech YouTuber and engineer Marcin Plaza provides a tour of the hardware, there’s little to no concrete evidence that it lives up to its ambitious claims.
The company, known for generating images, promises cheap, detailed imaging without radiation. However, experts have voiced doubts about its ability to overcome ultrasound's limitations or produce medically useful images at scale. Midjourney insists the scanner is a wellness product focused on body composition, sidestepping FDA clearance and clinical trials.
Despite some promising statements from CEO David Holz about the company’s freedom to pursue projects due to lack of investors, the video remains vague on technical details, leaving many questions unanswered. Tom Calloway’s reassurances that blogs will clarify matters seem optimistic at best.
