TikTok is shaking up its comment sections with a host of new features, including voice comments, comment polls, photo carousel comments and Live Photo comments. These additions are part of the app's ongoing efforts to foster deeper engagement and interaction among users.
Users can now leave voice comments, up to a minute long, directly under any video. These comments are subject to TikTok’s Community Guidelines, with a mix of human and automated tools in place to ensure compliance. Voice comments will roll out globally over the next month to users 18 and over.
Creators can add polls to their own videos, allowing followers to vote on a range of topics, from the next video idea to what outfit to wear or what dish to prepare. Photo carousel comments now allow users to add up to nine photos in a single comment, while Live Photo comments offer a brief burst of motion for a quick preview before viewing the full image.
With these new features, TikTok is aiming to turn comment sections into spaces where users linger and interact, rather than just leaving quick feedback. It’s a move that could transform the way users engage with content and each other on the platform.
