Apple has unveiled the new AirPods 5, boasting enhanced noise cancellation and transparency mode. These wireless earbuds will be available for £9.54 (or $129) from 18 September, with the wireless charging case priced at £10.69 (or $149).
Compared to the previous AirPods 4, which debuted in 2024 at a higher price, the new models promise to remove up to 50% more noise thanks to a new multiport acoustic architecture and advanced computational audio algorithms.
The improved transparency mode allows users to hear their surroundings more clearly, making it easier to catch conversations or be aware of their environment. This is all managed by adaptive audio, which switches between noise cancellation and transparency based on background noise.
Despite the improvements, Apple has maintained a competitive pricing structure, making these AirPods a more attractive option for tech enthusiasts who value both performance and affordability.
