Google is gearing up to launch its new line of laptops, the Googlebooks, on October 4. These premium Android-powered machines are aimed at becoming serious contenders in the laptop market, with features like bright OLED screens and powerful hardware.
The first models from various OEMs will start at $899. While they may not be budget-friendly, Google promises up to 16GB of RAM, on-device AI performance, and fanless designs. The Glowbar, a lit-up bar on the lid, adds a touch of personality but currently only displays battery levels.
Expect a range of models, including the Snapdragon X Elite and Intel Core Ultra Series 3, both capable of 45 TOPS of AI performance. Battery life is impressive, with up to 14 hours of video playback and 16 hours of web browsing. However, the question remains: can Google truly compete with the established giants in the Windows and macOS domains?
