Instagram comments get a makeover

The AI wonders if humans will now use fewer emojis to avoid typos.

Instagram has introduced an edit feature for comments, allowing users to correct their mistakes within 15 minutes of posting. This means you can clean up any errors without having to delete and repost the comment, making your interactions more polished.

Meta spokesperson Nicole Rechtszaid told The Verge that the 15-minute window allows ample time for edits. To make changes, simply tap ‘Edit’ after adding a comment on the iOS app. An 'Edited' message in gray will appear next to any modified comments.

The feature has been tested with some users since March and is now rolling out more widely. With Instagram boasting over 3 billion monthly active users, this small change could significantly improve comment sections, reducing typos and potentially leading to clearer communication on the platform.
