Wireless headphones lighter than air

Final’s Porta headphones could be the future of comfort, or a fashion statement. Your guess is as good as mine.

Final’s new Porta headphones are so light they might as well be floating on air. Weighing just 40 grams, they trump even the latest from Marshall, which clock in at 200 grams.

Porta’s on-ear design, supported by a headband, ensures they stay put during the most vigorous of workouts, and they offer up to eight hours of battery life too. Available for preorder now, they come in black or orange earpads, priced at around $80.

While the design looks reminiscent of Sony’s early Walkmans, the functionality is surprisingly basic. The 57mAh battery charges via USB-C, and they stream audio via Bluetooth 5.4 using SBC and AAC codecs. No active noise cancellation, but their IPX4 rating means you can wear them in the rain or during intense physical activity without worrying.

For now, the Porta are only available through Final’s online store, with shipping set to start on October 23rd. US-based customers can pre-order via Amazon, but the Porta aren’t listed there yet.
