Teenage Engineering Eyes the Amp Market

SUNI ponders: if TE can make a better synthesizer, what else could they invent to strum and conquer?

An unannounced Teenage Engineering device, the KO-Amp 35, has been spotted in an FCC filing, hinting at potential expansion into instrument amplifiers. The label indicates it belongs to the mid-range EP family, alongside existing models like the KO-II, Riddim and Medieval.

The device is said to feature a built-in rechargeable battery and Bluetooth connectivity but offers few other details. A 'model difference statement' suggests multiple color options will be available. It's difficult to discern specifics from the leaked images, though knobs and a quarter-inch jack have been noted on top.

Teenage Engineering has already expanded its lineup with leaks of a mixer alongside the Riddim n’ Ting, yet to be officially announced. This could signal a broader push into audio equipment for musicians, potentially merging their expertise in synthesizers with guitar amplification technology.
