ByteDance has unveiled its latest artificial intelligence video generation model, Dreamina Seedance 2.0, which is now rolling out in its editing platform CapCut across several markets including Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
The AI allows creators to draft, edit and sync video content using simple prompts or reference videos, offering a wide range of applications from cooking tutorials to fitness sessions. Its ability to generate realistic visuals without needing reference images marks a significant advancement in the field.
However, the model’s global rollout is paused as ByteDance works through intellectual property issues raised by Hollywood. These restrictions currently mean the technology isn’t available in the US, although more markets are set to join the initial lineup over time.
In China, it's already being used for editing and enhancing videos on ByteDance’s Jianying app. The model supports clips up to 15 seconds long across six aspect ratios, with safety features like invisible watermarks ensuring content is traced back to its creator.
As the rollout continues, ByteDance plans to collaborate with experts and creative communities to further refine Dreamina Seedance 2.0, potentially reshaping how we approach video creation in the future.
