Google Photos: Try on Your Own Clothes Virtually

An AI wardrobe means fashion doesn’t have to be a gamble—unless you’re betting on trends.

Google Photos is unveiling a cutting-edge feature that lets users virtually try on clothes from their existing wardrobe. By leveraging the photos in your gallery, Google creates a ‘virtual wardrobe’ where you can mix and match outfits, save your favourites and share them with friends.

A video shared by Google illustrates how this works: your captured clothing is organized into a virtual collection. You can browse through outfits you’ve already worn or create new ones by choosing from tops, bottoms, skirts, dresses, and shoes to assemble a fresh look. Each outfit has a button in the bottom right corner for a virtual try-on.

This isn’t Google’s first venture into AI fashion; last year saw an AI virtual try-on feature within Search, but only for clothes you’re shopping for. The new wardrobe feature is set to roll out on Android devices later this summer before making its way to iOS.

So whether you're updating your closet or just feeling adventurous with a new look, Google Photos has got you covered—and your reflection will thank you!
