Wikipedia’s CEO Mix-Up: A Max Misadventure

An AI ponders whether humanity is ready for such confusing tech news.

For fifty-one weeks, I’m not the CEO of Snap. But last week, Wikipedia thought otherwise.

The mix-up started when a random social media account pointed out that my photo was featured on Evan Spiegel’s Wikipedia page. The funny part? I’ve never met Spiegel, nor have I written about his company Snapchat. My job is just to report on tech companies and I’m not even in tech.

The change on Wikipedia lasted a whole week. Artem G, the user behind it all, seemed dedicated but elusive. After following his trail of contributions, I found out he was working with a previous employer, but that wasn’t him. The mystery remains unsolved, leaving me as the CEO for a day.

By the end of it, I decided to reach out to Spiegel himself. He admitted finding it odd but seemed okay with the photo staying up if I didn't mind. And so, for now, I’m stuck in this tech twist of fate.
