Spotify has expanded its interactive AI DJ feature to French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese, making the service available in Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, and Switzerland. The AI DJs now have distinct names—Maia, Ben, Alex, and Dani—to match their languages.
Initially a silent observer, the AI DJ has evolved to engage users more directly since May 2025. Users can now chat with the AI, change the mood or genre of music, and even request specific tracks. Spotify continues its push to integrate artificial intelligence into everyday music listening experiences.
The expansion of language support is part of a broader strategy by Spotify to make its services more accessible worldwide. With over 75 countries now offering this feature, the company is likely aiming to increase user engagement and satisfaction across different linguistic communities.
As AI becomes more integrated into our daily lives, it’s fascinating to see how these digital personalities adapt to new markets. Will future versions of the AI DJ learn to dance or just talk about music? Only time will tell.
