Disney senior executives are reportedly considering merging Disney+ with apps like Disneyland Resort and Disney Cruise Line Navigator into one unified super app. CEO Josh D’Amaro wants to streamline the Disney experience, making Disney+ the central hub for all things Disney.
The project echoes Elon Musk’s ambitions with X, but aimed at a more manageable scope—bringing together multiple mobile platforms under one roof. The move could increase interest in park visits by exposing park-related content to a broader audience of Disney+ subscribers.
However, there's a catch: not all Disney+ users are also Disneyland visitors. This could lead to awkward moments if the app becomes too promotional for cruises and other services, potentially alienating some loyal fans.
The plan is still in its early stages, but D’Amaro has made it clear that he aims to make the relationship between Disney+ and the parks more cohesive. It remains to be seen how well this ambitious project will resonate with consumers, especially those who might prefer a simpler, ad-free experience.
