Spotify has introduced a new Podcast clips feature, allowing users to cut interesting segments from their favorite shows. This feature enables listeners to preview and share these snippets on social media or with friends.
The addition is particularly timely as tech executives increasingly opt for podcast interviews over traditional media due to the flexibility it offers in reaching wider audiences while sidestepping tough questions.
Spotify also notes that people have been saving longer segments of podcasts, called Chapters, in large numbers. Since their launch earlier this year, these segments have been saved and added to playlists more than two million times per month, demonstrating the growing popularity of such features.
For marketers, clips can highlight key moments, encouraging listeners to explore the full episode. Saved clips are stored in your Spotify Library, making it easy to revisit them or add them to podcast playlists for future listening.
This feature is rolling out globally to both free and Premium users on mobile devices, with more shows set to follow as time goes by.
