Meta’s Threads is rolling out new features to enhance its Live Chat functionality, making it more accessible and user-friendly. Translations now support chats, allowing for easier communication across borders. Threads has also expanded the ability to host Live Chats to all 'Community Champions', users highly engaged in their communities.
New tools allow hosts to invite co-hosts and delete messages for everyone, improving moderation. These features are a direct response to user requests, as Threads seeks to differentiate itself from rivals like X.
Live Chats enable users to send a variety of content, including photos, videos, links, and emoji reactions, with up to 150 active participants. Additional users can spectate the conversation. Desktop support is on the horizon, alongside pinned messages, much to the delight of creators.
Since its launch, Threads has seen significant growth, reaching 500 million monthly active users in just three years. This milestone is a testament to the platform’s ongoing efforts to innovate and meet user needs.
