Jack Mulroe, CEO of Daisy Sound, aims to shake up the headphone market with his California-inspired Daisy One headphones. These retro-styled earbuds offer noise cancellation and aesthetic flair at a slightly lower price point, making them a contender in the crowded premium space.
The $399 Daisy Ones come equipped with durable materials like aluminum and composite TR90 head straps, promising long-lasting comfort. They feature Bluetooth connectivity and support for USB-C and 3.5-mm auxiliary connections, catering to a range of users. The headphones are available in three colours: silver, Pacific blue and Kelp green.
Mulroe's design team, based in California, aims to evoke a sense of laid-back Californian chic. Despite the appealing aesthetics, early reviews critique the transparency mode which allows ambient sound through—something Mulroe acknowledges needs improvement.
Launching at a time when memory shortages are hiking up costs, Daisy Sound is taking a leap of faith into an unproven market. However, Mulroe’s confidence in build quality shines through his relaxed approach, promising that customers will prefer his product's build to Sony and Bose’s.
