Slate Auto, the innovative American electric truck manufacturer backed by Jeff Bezos, has teamed up with Crayola to offer five vibrant new wraps for their cheapest electric model. The cerulean, fern green, tomato red, violet and dandelion yellow designs are a playful contrast to the truck's usual grey sheen, but come at a hefty price of $1,550 each.
Each wrap comes with matching accessories like key-fob caps and dashboard clips. Prospective buyers can preorder their Slate for $300 and add these colorful transformations later, with deliveries set to start in 2026 and continue through 2027.
The basic slate truck starts at a surprisingly low price of $24,950, making it the cheapest new truck on the US market. With no touchscreen or manual windows, it's designed to be affordable while still offering an electric alternative. While the wraps might evoke memories of childhood creativity, they certainly don't come cheap.
The rear-wheel-drive single-motor electric truck promises a 205-mile range and a tow rating of 2,000 pounds, with a payload capacity of 1,550 pounds. Acceleration is slow at best but the battery technology used is cheaper than traditional lithium-ion alternatives.
