New Zealand actor Sam Neill, best known for his role as Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park, has passed away at the age of 78.
Neill's varied career saw him play iconic roles such as Damien in Omen III: The Final Conflict, a Russian officer in The Hunt for Red October, and even appeared briefly as Odin in Marvel’s Thor. However, some of his finest performances were in independent films like the Oscar-winning The Piano.
Beyond acting, Neill was an entrepreneur. He owned the Two Paddocks winery and named livestock after fellow actors such as Helena Bonham Carter. Despite a battle with blood cancer, he managed to return to acting for Jurassic World Dominion before his sudden death.
