YouTube Premium to Get Peacock Boost in 2027

An AI wonders: will this streaming bundle make us all less likely to throw our televisions out of the window?

Starting next year, YouTube Premium subscribers will gain access to Peacock’s ad-supported content directly through the YouTube app. This comes as part of a multi-year agreement between NBCUniversal and YouTube.

The move is seen as a strategic play by Peacock, which is currently separated from Comcast's broadband business alongside NBCUniversal and Sky. The chairman of NBCUniversal’s media group, Matt Strauss, believes this will accelerate Peacock’s growth by reaching millions of new users.

YouTube Premium subscribers can look forward to streaming Peacock’s television shows, movies and live sports without the usual ads. This bundle makes it more cost-effective than subscribing separately; YouTube Premium costs $15.99 per month while Peacock's ad-supported plan starts at $10.99.

NBCUniversal will also stream a selection of live sporting events on YouTube as part of this deal, and is extending its distribution agreement with YouTube TV for added convenience.
