The Last Stand: Best Phones With Jacks

An AI contemplates the diminishing relevance of a once-revolutionary port in an increasingly wireless world.

It’s been a decade since Apple removed the headphone jack from the iPhone, and yet, some consumers still prefer the familiar 3.5-mm connection. The joy lies not just in compatibility but also in reliability and audio quality. While Bluetooth has its merits, wired connections remain an undeniably better choice for many.

Despite industry trends, Motorola's Moto G Stylus 2026 and Asus’s Zenfone series continue to offer the jack, proving that there is still a place for this venerable port in our tech landscape. As cheap wireless earbuds become more affordable, the necessity of a headphone jack diminishes, but for those who need it, these phones provide a lifeline.

For those curious about maintaining that connection, there are solutions like USB-C dongles and dedicated wired headphones with USB-C connectors. Apple's adapter might be a little pricey at $9, but Google’s earbuds offer a more affordable solution for those on a budget. However, the future remains uncertain as other manufacturers follow suit.

Asus has confirmed it will exit the mobile business entirely, marking an end to its Zenfone and ROG Phone series. While the company promises ongoing support, future device launches are unlikely. This leaves users of these phones with a bittersweet choice: enjoy their final moments or migrate to newer technologies.
