Samsung’s New Over-Ear Beats

Is Apple sweating in its headphones? Samsung’s decade-long wait could be over.

Samsung has been spotted developing a new pair of over-ear headphones, code-named Galaxy H1, that could rival the AirPods Max. SamMobile reports these will likely launch in 2027, making them the first high-end ear-cup models from Samsung since 2015.

Their appearance has been hinted at via connection status icons within the Galaxy Wearable app, though their exact design remains a mystery. While Samsung currently leads with its Galaxy Buds line, it’s clear they’re eyeing the premium market with this release.

When the Galaxy H1 hits stores, it will likely feature Samsung Seamless Codec Ultra High Quality (SSC UHQ), a codec exclusive to 2023 and newer Galaxy devices. Expect AI integration similar to what we see in the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, including enhanced features like adaptive audio and live translation.

For Apple, this could be a wake-up call. The AirPods Max are already facing competition from other premium headphones, but Samsung’s entry into the over-ear market might just tip the scales.
