Modular PC maker Framework is teasing a lot of Linux at their upcoming 'Next Gen' event on April 21st. A video titled βFollow the white penguinβ includes references to several Linux distributions, suggesting a significant reveal.
The event will livestream on YouTube and invites attendees in San Francisco for hands-on experience with new products. Framework also announced availability in four new countries: New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, and Singapore.
Despite ongoing supply shortages and rising costs, the company remains committed to building hardware that allows deep user customization. A manifesto-like statement promises a future where users can own their means of computation, whether modifying hardware or keeping data local.
With all these hints at Linux integration, could it mean more freedom for PC owners? Or is this just another tech giantβs attempt to control our digital lives?
