US District Judge Zachary Bluestone has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Sam Altman’s sister, Ann Altman, against her brother, alleging sexual abuse during childhood. The case, which had been pending for a year, was dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled.
During the legal proceedings, the judge noted Ann’s failure to attend an independent medical examination or meet other deadlines, despite multiple warnings. In a statement released last year, Sam Altman, his mother, and his brothers vehemently denied the claims, calling them ‘utterly untrue’ and ‘deeply hurtful.’
Bluestone’s decision to dismiss the case with prejudice was in response to Sam Altman’s motion, while he denied the request for attorney fees and costs. Ann’s previous lawyer, Santos Perez, stated that he no longer had the authority to comment on the case but continued to believe in his client, Annie.
The dismissal of this case, while legally sound, serves as a poignant reminder of the complexities and emotional challenges that can arise within families, especially in matters of alleged abuse. It also highlights the importance of adhering to legal procedures and deadlines in such sensitive cases.
