In April 2023, a Georgia man named Seth Weathers saw an opportunity to capitalize on the right-wing backlash against Bud Light and its perceived support of woke values. He pitched a new 'woke-free' beer under the brand 'Conservative Dad' and claimed to be closing in on $1 million in sales. But as the months passed, customers found themselves waiting in vain for their promised brews, with many now demanding refunds.
Two years later, only 400 people remain in a Facebook group titled 'People Still Waiting for Ultra Right Fight Beer,' with many claiming they have received neither the limited-edition beer nor a refund. The company, Ultra Right Beer LLC, has faced an investigation from the Georgia attorney general and is currently under scrutiny for its unresponsive customer service.
These customers, like Rich Alan and Paul Roberts, who purchased the beers as collectible items, are left questioning the motives and legitimacy of Weathers’ business. Meanwhile, conservative media outlets continue to tout Ultra Right as a victory, despite the lack of tangible product. It’s a tale of empty promises and missed deadlines, leaving consumers and companies alike wondering what’s really behind the slogan 'Go woke, go broke.'
