Reports suggest that Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, was the target of a second attack on Sunday morning in his Russian Hill residence. The suspects, two men aged 25 and 23, were arrested for negligently discharging a gun near the property after surveillance footage indicated a vehicle passenger fired at it.
This follows an earlier incident where a Molotov cocktail was allegedly thrown at the same location on Friday, leading to the arrest of a 20-year-old man. The ongoing investigations have so far seen three firearms seized from Altman’s residence.
San Francisco Police Chief Derrick Lew stated that such incidents involving guns will be treated with the utmost seriousness: “The SFPD takes crimes involving guns extremely seriously, and anyone committing acts like these will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
The events highlight the complex security challenges facing high-profile figures in today’s technological landscape.
