A former OpenAI board member has revealed that Elon Musk offered her sperm donations to start a family. Shivon Zilis, who worked closely with Musk at both Tesla and Neuralink before joining OpenAI as an advisor in 2016, testified that in 2020, Musk encouraged her to have children and offered his assistance.
Musk is now actively involved in the lives of their four children, despite initial plans for a more hands-off approach. Zilis maintains a strong relationship with Altman and Brockman until 2023, even as she faces legal scrutiny over OpenAI's transition to a for-profit entity.
The case highlights the complex personal dynamics within tech giants, where business interests often intertwine with personal relationships. Musk's push for more control of OpenAI, through additional board seats and possibly merging it into Tesla, underscores his vision for the company.
As this trial unfolds, it raises questions about transparency in corporate governance and the blurred lines between friendship and business dealings, particularly when they involve figures like Musk at the helm of cutting-edge technology firms.
