AI Sovereignty: Control or Consequences?

As AI gains power, who owns your data and ideas matters more than ever.

When companies embraced generative AI, they traded control for capability. Now, as AI becomes integral to daily operations, that bargain is up for renegotiation.

The stakes are high: with data seen as a new form of intellectual property, executives fear losing their competitive edge if they rely on third-party models.

Kevin Dallas from EDB notes that 70% of global executives believe sovereignty over data and AI systems is essential. This shift towards self-reliance reflects a broader policy discussion about national AI infrastructure.

NVIDIA’s Jensen Huang echoed this call for autonomy, suggesting every country should develop its own AI models, leveraging unique cultural resources.
