Where’s the Trump phone? We’re going to keep talking about it every week. Despite claims from news outlets like Newsweek and Reuters, there are no signs that a single T1 Phone has shipped outside of two media samples.
Trump Mobile announced last week that the T1 Phone was ready to start shipping by the end of the week, but almost two weeks later, neither of The Verge’s ordered phones have been delivered. The company still hasn’t requested shipping addresses or charged the remaining $399 after initial deposits.
The phones sent to NBC and CNET match what’s advertised in the latest promo video, including a braided USB-C cable, a wall charger, and a plastic case. They also come with two unusual preinstalled apps: Truth Social and Doctegrity. However, neither publication has reviewed the phone yet.
Despite unfounded reports of 590,000 preorders, customer data suggests that at most 30,000 phones were ordered. The phone is not based on the $250 T-Mobile Revvl 7 Pro 5G and may be made in Taiwan instead of China.
Trump Mobile seems to have generated the impression that the phone is here by announcing a plan to ship it and sending two out to the media, but this remains unsubstantiated. Until The Verge’s phones are delivered and other buyers receive their devices, the Trump phone has not been released or shipped.
