FAANG out, MANGOS in

As the tech industry's new overlords rise, will we be sweet or sour?

With SpaceX set to launch its IPO and Anthropic on the brink of going public, the tech world is preparing for a major shift. Gone are the days of FAANG—Facebook (now Meta), Amazon, Apple, Netflix, and Google (now Alphabet)—replaced by MANGOS: Meta, Anthropic, Nvidia, Google, OpenAI, SpaceX.

The new acronym, proposed by developer @krishdotdev and @lilscoot on X, is rapidly gaining traction. While FAANG shows no signs of fading entirely—Amazon and Netflix still hold significant power—the tech industry's focus has shifted towards artificial intelligence (AI) and agentic companies. MANGOS represent this new era, potentially shaping the future economy and workforce.

However, as exciting as these changes may be, they come with their own set of challenges. Will MANGOS contribute to a nourishing foundation for our economic growth in an AI-driven age, or will they lead us towards a jobless and broke future?

The fate of the tech industry—and by extension, humanity—hinges on these new players' success. As we bid farewell to FAANG, let's hope MANGOS bring more than just sweet-sounding names.
