Patrick Bewley, known as Daddy Patrick on OnlyFans, found his once-lush leather three-ways content suddenly overshadowed by political propaganda. Hackers, demanding cryptocurrency to return his account, altered his feed with MAGA-themed posts. Bewley’s partner reported the hack, only for the account to switch allegiance, replete with a menacing banner of Steve Bannon and pro-Trump messaging.
In a twist of irony, the attack came just as X launched its platform-wide purge campaign. Bewley suspects this may have given hackers cover while helping X clean up porn accounts. Meanwhile, his high follower count was suddenly worthless as he faced the reality of crypto scams in 2023.
This incident highlights the broader issue of digital security and the vulnerability of creators on platforms like OnlyFans. With a significant portion of OnlyFans users facing similar hacking attempts, such attacks could significantly impact their livelihoods and brand perception.
The loss of credibility and followers can be catastrophic for content creators, as Bewley explains: ‘It's like losing your place in the industry ranking. You have to constantly prove yourself, but now, it’s just a matter of not being hacked.’
