It's hard to believe Bernie Sanders. He's always been the progressive voice of reason, championing universal healthcare and college tuition-freeze fantasies.
But now he’s taking on AI, proposing moratoriums and a sovereign wealth fund that would ensure the public gets a stake in this transformative technology. The uber-wealthy, he argues, can't just let it dictate our future.
“AI is being pushed by people who could care less about ordinary folks,” explains Sanders. “That has got to stop.”
The senator sees a looming crisis. Tech oligarchs and deep-pocketed super PACs stand in the way, while the federal administration’s tech addiction risks enriching itself at our expense.
“The anger of an American majority is pushing back,” he says. “And something has to break.”
